have you ever heard the name Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela..??..i'm sure many of us know this figure ...his name quite familiar and famous...not only popular among the people in the African but also the whole world know him...Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela , better known as Nelson Mandela was born on 18 july 1918 in a small village on the edge of Mbashe River, in the district of Umtata, the capital of the Transkei, South Africa ...


in his youth , Nelson has completed his education at Healdtown Methodist boarding school and furthered his education at the University of Fort Here ...while at university Nelson together with late of Oliver Tambo was opposed to Apartheid with the student strike until he was dismissed from the university in 1940...then he continued his education at the University of South Africa in Johannesburg ... after getting a degree in business, he enrolled in the program LLB (Bachelor of Law) at the University of Witwatersrand...


in 1944, Nelson had formed the Youth League of the African National Congress (ANC Youth League) and was appointed as the National Voluntary Resistance Campaign (Defiance Campaign) in 1952...he has traveled the country with the spirit of resistance against apartheid laws...in that same year, Nelson and Tambo has established a first blacks firm in South Africa, with the aim to help the blacks are oppressed by the cruel laws of the whites...


ANC party was banned after the Sharpeville uprising in 1960 and Nelson as prominent figures arrested and imprisoned in 1961..even though he in prison but his fighting spirit is not fade...Nelson continued his fight and underground activities while leading the organization demanded a new national life, free from the influence of apartheid...Umkhonto we Sizwe ( MK ), the military of the ANC party formed in the same year with Nelson as its highest ruling...under his leadership, he launched a sabotage against government and economic development...a year later, Nelson left his homeland to pursue military training in Algeria...


after he returned, he was arrested on the grounds leaving the country illegally and inflame the spirit of the people to go on strike...he was charged guilty and was sentenced to five years imprisonment in november 1962...while in prison, he was charged in the Rivonia trial, on charges of sabotage and jailed for life...despite being in prison, but Nelson never compromised his political principles and spirit that has been a source of strength to the other prisoners...


in the 70s, he rejected the offer reduction of his sentence if he recognized Transkei as a settlement and agreed to stay in the Transkei...whereas in the 1980s, he again rejected the offer of President Botha to release him from prison if he renounced violence...after rejecting several offers conditional regime of South Africa, Nelson was finally released on 11 february1990...as a result of opposition from the ANC party and international pressure, President FW de Klerk bowed and release all political prisoners, including Nelson...on 10 may 1994, Nelson Mandela was elected as the first black president of South Africa...


monday, 5 december 2013, the world lost Nelson Mandela, who died at the age of 95 years after a long struggle with lung disease...his passing is a great loss to the world that is admired struggle, passion, simplicity and her commitment in the fight for human rights and equality, regardless of gender or race...
